Cheesy Bacon Subs

We love this recipe, it is made with just a handful of ingredients, is quick and easy to throw together and makes a fantastic lunch or after school snack.

Ingredients

  • 1x tin of tomato & garlic pasta sauce
  • 2x mini baguettes
  • 1x packet Meat Street Cheesy Bacon Grill Sticks cooked as per packet instructions, halved
  • 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • Basil leaves to garnish

Method

  1. Put the pasta sauce into a pot, bring to the boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until a thick silky sauce has formed.
  2. Slice the baguettes through the top and open out. Spoon in the sauce, saving some for on top. Tuck in the cooked grill sticks then dollop over the remaining sauce.
  3. Scatter over the mozzarella cheese and grill until golden brown and bubbly.
  4. Scatter over the basil leaves then serve.
